Actions Overview
If an Alchemy God is not on cooldown, they may take one of the following actions every 24 hours:
- Attack. Send your God’s summoned elementals to attack a territory and engage in combat with its defenders or, if no defenders exist, its crystal core.
- Defend. Assign your God’s summoned elementals to defend their own staked territory.
- Boost. Sacrifice your God’s summoned elementals as offerings to Ulvani (Lunar Sanctum and Pride of Tophius) or Vokrodh (Tower of Soleel and Anima Judavaan) in return for Devotion.
Tutorial: Taking Actions
The following is a step-by-step tutorial for taking actions in Cosmic War.
To perform an action, first select “Gods” from the Cosmic War play menu.
Next, select “Take Actions”.
Choose a territory to take actions for. You may only take actions for Gods you own that have already been staked in a territory.
For this tutorial, let’s choose Tower of Soleel.
The menu will then show the Gods staked in that territory. Gods ready for action have green buttons and Gods still on cooldown have red buttons.
Once you have selected one or more Gods, select “Go!”
In this example, we have chosen Afeiyu [146] as indicated by her dimmed button.
Next, choose an action.
For this tutorial, we will choose to “Attack”.
Regardless of your action choice, the next menu will ask if you would like to queue your action once, “Now”, or multiple times, “Now (and repeat)”.
For now, we shall choose “Now”.
Only if you chose to attack, you must next target an enemy territory.
For this example, we will select “Lunar Sanctum”.
Your God will now summon a party of elementals. You will be given the option to re-roll your summoned elementals. Once you have deployed them all, you have succeeded in performing an action!
Tutorial: Scheduling Repeat Actions
If you would like your God to repeat an action automatically each time their cooldown ends, you may schedule an action to repeat. This decision is made at the timing menu step.
Upon selecting “Now (and repeat)”, you are given a choice to repeat the action for 3, 5, 7, or 9001 days. Choose one to schedule your repeat action.
Advantages of Repeat Actions
First, let us point out some of the main benefits of repeat actions:
- Once your God is off cooldown, their elemental parties are deployed as quickly as possible
- You can play Cosmic War as a true idle game, returning only to adjust your action schedule when you have time
Disadvantages of Repeat Actions
Now for the more crucial points to consider, there are downsides to repeat actions:
- Each time your action repeats, you skip the opportunity to re-roll your God’s summoned elementals, preventing you from customizing parties
- Gods scheduled to repeat actions do not gain the benefit of a cooldown reset at the beginning of the next battle
Now let us discuss how to cancel Repeating Actions.
Tutorial: Cancelling Repeat Actions
If you wish to stop your God from performing an action set to repeat, you may do so by first selecting “Manage Gods” from the Cosmic War play menu.
You are next given the choice to manage a single God or multiple Gods.
For this example, we will select “Ajni [139]”, who has been set to attack Lunar Sanctum on repeat.
Next, select “Cancel Queued Actions”.
After you confirm, you have successfully canceled all actions scheduled to repeat! Once your God is off cooldown, they will not perform another action until you command them to.
Tutorial: Set Action Schedule
As of announcement by February 9, Level 5 or higher Gods can now be managed to have specific actions done in a certain day in a week. This is a more consistent version of Repeating Actions, as you can customize your God’s action to your liking, rather than stick to one specific action for the whole week!
To get set up for Action Scheduling, go to the Main Menu, and select “Gods”, then “Manage Gods”.
Next, select “Single”.
Now, for this tutorial, lets select Afeiyu [146], who is currently staked at Pride of Tophius.
Currently, this God only shows its current Summon rates, as there was no schedule set. Now lets select “Set Schedule”.
The prompt that appears shows all days of the week, and all default actions are “Boost”. For this demonstration, lets select “Mon”.
The next prompt appearing is the same as how you perform actions manually. However it will only ask if you will Attack, Defend, or Boost. For Attack Actions, it will ask as well what Territory you will attack.
Now repeat setting schedules for different days until you are satisfied with the order.
Once you are done, select “Save Schedule”.
After that, you can see your God now has actions set for schedule. This as well, can be cancelled if you wish. Look at “Cancelling Repeat Actions” above for details.
