Objective
The objective of Cosmic War is to lead your territory to victory and earn yourself $SPIRIT rewards. You will do so by taking daily actions using your Alchemy Gods, who summon armies of elementals to fight on your behalf.
Teamwork is essential in Cosmic War, and social coordination is strongly encouraged!
Territories are ranked by Devotion score, and players are ranked by Glory score. Both are important to earn throughout each week’s battle to optimize your $SPIRIT rewards.

Narrative Perspective
The events of Cosmic War are experienced by both Descendants and Gods. In the Divine Plane, players with Gods of Alchemy are siding with either Vokrodh or Ulvani - the Aether Gods - and battling for control over the Dunes of Time.
As the Gods war above, free-to-play Descendants will join the battle in future Acts as foot soldiers in the Dunes of Time, which permeate the Planes of Existence and distort spacetime.
The progression of Acts in Battle for Ankhos thematically matches the progression of Acts in Cosmic War.
Wallet Verification
New players begin by connecting their wallet to their Discord account through our wallet verification flow. Once a wallet is connected, the game can read and recognize Gods of Alchemy in the player’s wallet and their custodial game wallet.
Staking
Players must first stake any unstaked Gods by selecting a territory in the Dunes of Time. Once staked, a God can take actions for its territory.
Unstaking a God will reset that God’s Glory score to 0, reducing their share of SPIRIT rewards. The God may be staked again in a new territory, but they will begin with a Glory score of 0.
At the start of the first Act, only 4 territories exist. Over time, more territories will be introduced and territory capacities will be reduced.
Battle Map
The battle map shows the current Devotion score for each territory, as well as a timer showing the remaining battle time.
$SPIRIT Distribution
When the timer ends, territories will earn a pay out of $SPIRIT based on their relative Devotion scores. In the example above, Anima Judavaan will earn ~2x the $SPIRIT of Pride of Tophius.
Individual Gods will earn $SPIRIT based on their territory’s allocation and their personal Glory scores. Higher Glory scores = more $SPIRIT.
The total $SPIRIT pool for each battle is at least 250,000.
Taking Actions
Every 24 hours, players may take one action per God: Boost, Defend, or Attack.
Summoning Elementals
All actions will begin with the summoning of elemental units. These units may be 1-star, 2-star, or 3-star units, 3-star being the rarest and most powerful.
The element(s) of the units are linked to the element(s) of the acting God. For example, Air Gods summon Air elementals and neutral elementals. Each unit has unique skills and synergies.
These elementals represent your God’s “army”, awaiting your command.
Re-rolling Elementals
For a small fee in $SPIRIT, elementals may be re-rolled. A player may want to re-roll if they are unhappy with the strength or position of a unit.

Summoning & Re-rollingBoosting
Boost will sacrifice your elementals to the Gods. The offering will resolve immediately and generate Devotion for your territory. Devotion is your territory’s team score, and boosting is currently the only way to increase your territory’s Devotion.
Defending
Defend will queue elementals to defend your own territory from incoming attacks. Once attackers engage with your elementals, you will be notified and can watch the results of the fight.
Attacking
Attack will send summoned units to a chosen territory. Those units will immediately engage in combat with the defending territory’s units or - if no units remain - its crystal core.
Understanding Combat
Once an attacking and a defending party match in the combat queue, a battle takes place automatically. After the battle has resolved, both players may review the results of the battle in image and video form.
Units - powered by AI - take turns fighting. Attacks build Energy, which is used to execute stronger Skills. Units will continue fighting until they lose all of their Health Points. Once one team has lost all of their units, the battle ends.
Both players have potential to earn Glory in every battle. Each player earns Glory based on the power of the units they destroyed, if any. The winner also earns a Glory bonus.
Leaderboards
Leaderboards in Cosmic War rank players by Glory and filter by territory. Scores are reset at the end of every week’s battle.
Battle Report Cards
Once a week’s battle concludes, all players will receive a Battle Report for each territory they staked. The Battle Report will contain stats of the player’s performance and will also show the player’s name, profile picture, territory name, and top God.
Battle Reports may be generated at any time but are marked “Unofficial” until the end of the battle.
Managing Gods
At any time, players may choose to inspect or level up their Gods.
Inspecting a God will reveal more information about the God, including their name, element(s), level, territory staked, current action, and action window duration.
Leveling Up
Once leveled up for a fee in $SPIRIT, a God will have an increased chance of summoning 2-star and 3-star elementals.
